Thanks to the landlord and his good lady wife for wonderful bar meals, at short notice having been subject to an onslaught of customers as well as an ongoing Lions Club meeting. Alison managed to provide us with marvellous fare and her husband (I'm embarrassed to say I didn't ask his name) was one of the friendliest people I have met, quick with a smile and good conversation (but he is from Sunderland so what can I say?) The curry was lovely, and Big Bertha, she was tackled by two of us (ask at the bar!). But, the crowning glory was the fish & chips - excellent. Thank you both again for a lovely evening. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
