I have stayed at Lane Cottages for the past four summers and plan to stay again. The cottages are near a bus stop for easy access to Chester only 6 miles away and other noteworthy attractions. They are comfortably and attractively decorated. The kitchens are completely equipped for self-catering and there are washing machines amenable for light packing. The hosts will be as involved or uninvolved as you wish and are very helpful. There are a number of recommended restaurants and pubs within walking distance, a 700 year old historical church complete with bell ringers, and scenic hiking paths to Roman bridges.

I enjoyed this visit so much that I have made a reservation to return next year. The hosts are so friendly and helpful and will be little or much involved, your choice. The historical cottages are delightfully attractive and comfortable and were completely renovated and decorated by the hosts who are most talented and creative. The rooms are filled throughout with antiques and all amenities including a well stocked kitchen. Out back is a breakfast patio and a charming English garden. The location is quiet and convenient to the little village shops, hiking paths, pubs and bus stops. Historical Chester is five miles away on a regular bus route and well worth several days of exploring. There are a number of well established gardens, quaint villages and historical homes in the area including Nantwich, Cholmondeley and Beeston Castles, Norton Priory and Bluebell Gardens, .
