Simply the best restaurant/pub in the North West/Cheshire/Shropshire. Excellent Host Rob Adam and Chef Chris Lumb deserve a premier rating fo quality and value for money. Well worth a visit. Book early !

Staying for a couple of nights in a nearby farmhouse, The Swan came recommended by our host who even booked us a table for dinner. The location is relaxed yet very comfortable with staff attentive, personable and approachable. My tomato and basil soup was excellent and my partner enjoyed a mozzarella, parma ham salad. Our main course of pork in a delightful piquant sauce was cooked to perfection with fresh vegetables and a particular favourite, lyonnaise potatoes. We were both too full for pudding. The most impressive feature was a reflection of our top London experiences - six items only each for starter, main course and dessert, The Swan is an absolute jewel and - this is not a criticism, more an area for development - the chef is clearly very talented. A specials board of two or three items would have gained The Swan 100% rather than 99%. A wonderful experience and one we shall repeat very soon.

We had an excellent family lunch here, the food was fresh and well-cooked, and the service friendly and impeccable. Fantastic value, and a lovely location. Wish I lived nearer!!! Highly recommended, but very busy so definitely make a reservation.
