We found The Rising Sun a very nice and friendly Inn. We had an excellent meal, and the beer was well kept. We will make sure we visit again. B Collins Bedfordshire.

We found the Rising Sun Inn a very friendly place, the food was excellent and plenty of it, the beer was very well kept with a large choice of ales. The staff were all polite and served us well. We will be going there again.

We stayed for 2 nights in early August 08 - we were very happy with the Rising Sun - our bedroom had a magnificent view of the cove, was perfectly clean and well appointed, and the bar was quaint and friendly, with umpteen different brands of rum and interesting photos, pictures, etc. Meva was only 10 minutes walk away, and the pub is on the SW Coast path. A really great place to stay.

We originally booked two nights at this hotel but due to the poor standards of the rooms left after one night. The colour t.v. was perched on the fridge, there was dust on the windows and chairs and the en suite was horrendous with the towel rail hanging off and the cup holder was disgusting, green mildrew in the shower and this was a sea view room at £90. The woman owner never smiled once and we paid £13 for 4 drinks non of which were named drinks, just the cheaper ones. Would never recommend anyone stay here if they want a clean place. Oh the beds were very nice and clean but that was about all.

I can recommend this pub / Restaurant, excellent staff with a very good menue with all fresh produce. In the evening we often had the fish which was 100% as the chef cooks to perfection. We stayed at Dolphin Cottage just some 50 meters away and on arrival to the pub which you can park at overnight for £1.00 we met the owner and staff and were quickly introduced to the locals. Even my friends son who came down from Dorking (22 who is into clubbing in Brighton and London) Loved the pub and area and met some locals of his own age to talk to as well as a few girls he met !!) A great place to stay and relax no hastle no hang ups just very friendly people and great food very clean throughout. Go there, if not, you are missing out. A very satisfied customer.
