This has the potential to be a terrific establisment, On the plus points, it's location is great; hop on the ferry at Devonport and hop off at Cremyll and fall straight into the pub. The Sunday carvery was good value for money and worth crossing the Tamar River just to eat. Staff were hepful although I felt a little rushed due to the large numbers wanting feeding. On the negatives, we stayed there as a party of four following on from a wedding reception at Mount Edgecumbe House. Again the staff were very helpful and polite. Our room was OK but did have a great view across the river to Plymouth. The en-suite facilities were adequate, the shower awful, I would not rate the bedrooms as 4* more like 3*. The breakfast, the first morning, was good well cooked and plenty of it. On the second morning the bacon was solid almost as if it had been roasted. This is 3* accommodation

My husband and I spent a delightful eight days/nights at the Edgcumbe Arms. Our room overlooked the water and was comfortable and well-appointed, with private bath. The pub's food was very good. As Americans, we enjoyed the experience of the "carvery". The owners/hosts and their staff are hospitable and efficient. The easy access to the ferry and bus services and easy-walk to adjacent Mount Edgcumbe Park made our visit very enjoyable!

The pub is now under new management since a bad review was published.the people involved hve been replaced The new landlord and landlady Steve and Pat are a very friendly couple offering the very best of service with ales of top quality, the food is superb and offers AA**** accommodation with views over the river Tamar. I am not related in any way to the landlords but use the pub on a regular basis and was disappointed to see the bad review and wished to put things right. The simple fact is the previous couple were not upto scratch but the new ones are so don't be put off, give one of the best pubs in Cornwall a try you won't regret it

My wife and I have just been for the last two weeks for the Sunday Carvery. Its been one of the best caverys that we have had for many a year. Its not cheap but worth every penny that we spent. We first went last Sunday with out a booked but the management made room for us. This Sunday we booked as I recommend any body haveing a carvery on a Sunday to do. The Staff can not do enough for you. Well worth a visit, we will be calling again very soon. Its a wonderful seting by the rivers edge.

It is lovely place, and we have many visitors every week. The service is sufficient to the amount of people that are in and out of the door every day. May I add a large majority of our customers leave satisfied, after enjoying a hot or cold brew, and descent bit of food. All I can say to the comment above is that St Austell Brewery are investigating the incident, and I hope this very inappropriate comment above does not stop you from at least visiting Edgcumbe Park and our pub.

Extremely dissatisfied. We went as part of a large party with 8 children, 2 of which are about 2. When asked to split a single meal for them to share the gentleman behind the carvery became very abusive to several of our party when we offered to pay extra. The situation further escalated and one of our party was pushed against the wall. Sadly this was in front of a crowded pub all of whom witnessed the events. What was the food like? I can't comment as we didn't stay to find out.
