If you are looking for tradition this is the place to come. Locals, hikers, and tourists had converged for lunch the day we walked up from our Branscombe seaside chalet. The sandwiches are enormous and the beer tasty. Staff is efficient and non-intrusive. Highly recommend one or more pints after a long walk.

This is a traditional village pub with stone flagged floors and wooden settles and a space outside for Morris dancers to perform. They brew their own beer (Branscombe Vale Brewery)which is well worth a visit and prepare hearty meals at a reasonable price. Get there early or book for evening meals as they get extremely busy. There is seating outside but the bars are quite small.
One of our favorite Devon pubs.
