Took my young son there for afternoon lunch. First visit in over 10 years and was surprised how the place has gone downhill. Needs major refurbishment. Staff not very friendly, food was awful and very expensive! Would not recommend.

I am a regular drinker who likes cycling in between and visit this pub most Sundays after an off-road bike ride . The beer is always good, especially the Broadside, the staff are very friendly and the landlord does not mind cyclist who may be covered in mud ! Occasionally I would dine at the pub with my Wife and have always had a good meal washed down with a few Broadsides and a cheeky bottle of red wine . Fortunately my Wife drives me home ! A very friendly pub with good food and good ale .

A little gem! We visited the pub last month and my husband and i enjoyed a lovely lunch, out in their beer garden. The beautiful old pub itself is quite small but, there is a lot of land, we sat in the beer garden surronded by meadows, you thought you were in the middle of the countryside and not two minutes off the motorway! We had a fresh crab sandwich, and a homemade steak, kidney and ale pie, which both were absolutely fabulous. I had a nice glass of house dry white wine, which they allowed me to try before making my choice, my husband had a small broadside, which he said was very good and sorry he was the driver! If you are travelling on the m11 it is a great stop off junction 7. we will certainly use the pub again!

moved to the outskirts of harlow in october 08, was recommended to visit the rainbow & dove. Went there for a quick beer one evening to see the menu ,etc. had a very good pint of broadside, and knew straight away this small but busy country pub was just what i was looking for - friendly, comfortable atmosphere. booked a christmas meal for family of 5. Have to say the food was very good, 3 course xmas menu. service was very helpful & friendly. have been back since to enjoy their food again, this time off their specials board, fresh fish and locally sourced game. all very good once again. in short the pub offers good beer, good surrondings, & good value. ( i havent been paid for this review or been offered a free meal!)

We visited the pub for a meal on St Valentines day evening. Much to our surprise we were presented with a menu with nine items in total. The food was cooked poorly including the "Rib eye steak"(Main course).Following this I had a dollop of ice cream, with two chocolate blocks(Availible from any supermarket!).My partner had a desert where they forgot to include any sugar.Included was three glasses of wine and a beer. The total was £60.00,which we found clearly to expensive for poorly cooked food with such a small selection.
