Dont know where the other reviewer stayed but is doesn't sound like the same place to me.
The showers were clean with copious hot water and no timers or coins slots to cause you to rush. The camping ground was level and well tended and overlooked by friendly cattle over the fence. The swimming pool was spotless and provided an ideal unwind from a days hiking. The hotel lies on the route of the Test way, one of the most beautiful long distance paths in the country and there are numerous footpaths in the area. After a pleasant hour or so on the driving range we rounded off our evening with an excellent meal in the restaraunt.
There is a railway approx 1/2 Km from the site but it runs in a cutting and is quite difficult to hear and impossible to see, the trains from the site.
I have recommended the site to several camping friends and hope to come back soon.
Insider tip.
If you are feeling too lazy to cook the obligatory breakfast. Take a drive towards Andover and enter the industrial estate at the outskirts, on the right. You will find "Fat Piggy's" a transport type cafe which serves enormous breakfasts at very reasonable prices. It is a couple of miles away but worth the trip. We discovered it through word of mouth.

Sadly this was not one of my better camping experiences, an unusually bad start to the camping season. The staff were painfully slow, the swimming pool was a green slimey pit and the showers were dribbling on the power front.
The camp site is situated on the edge of an industrial estate with a training running along the bottom of the field. Not anything walkable from the site.
This has to be one of the worse places I've been. For an enjoyable chilled out interesting hols with or without the kids go somewhere else!
