Lovely location and traditional 'old English' styling with beams and open fire. The food we had was of a good quality. The down side was as follows: We arrived at about 2:15 and it was made clear that we were up against the clock and would have to order within the 'next few minutes'. The menu started at around £7 for basics such as 'cheese on toast', baked potato so we decided than to have the main meal choices. However, these we were informed were not available (due to the clock presumably). We ordered the 'quick type meals' which were fine if a tad expensive. The net down side was the sounding of the bell and, 'Time gentlemen please'. The rest of the meal was rushed although I should say that the delightful waitress did ask whether she could get us anything else. Overall, we loved the location, the environment but felt that the basics were a bit expensive.

I had been recommended this pub by friends who regularly visit. We were not disapointed. The staff were extremely friendly and did everything to make us feel welcome. The food was fantastic. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection! My husband had one of the pies on the special board. I had a taste and know exactly what I will be having when we return (hopefully soon). If you want an old fashioned country pub with charm, great food and fantastic service you must try The Queen Inn at Dummer.

Looking at all these reviews im wondering where everyone else went? i was served by an extremely attentive young lady with a very professional manner. we were seated when we were ready and not rushed. food was amazing and waitress was attentive to our needs. Great atmosphere with log fires and a nice bustle about the place. I will definately be returning to this nice little find .

I must be going to a different place to some of the other reviewers. My family and I have used the Queen Inn for the past 3 years and in that time have never had a bad meal, unfriendly service or unprofessional management. The pub is without doubt the best in the area and serves fantastic pub food. If you are looking for a restaurant with faultless table service then perhaps the Queen may not come up to your expectations, but should you want everything that is good about an olde worlde English pub then please go. One further thing. If you can find a better Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding on a Sunday Lunchtime then please let me know, because I am yet to find it.

A beautiful looking pub in a beautiful Village, so what a terrible shame that it is so appallingly badly run. There was dog poo in the garden - staff just walked around it! - and that the Landlord chose to raise a manhole cover in the garden, presumably to unblock a drain whilst we were eating, and when the pub was due to close in less than an hour which would surely have been a more appropriate time to deal with it. The stench put the garden full of diners off their food. Never, ever, again!

Going on past reputation, I booked a table at the Queen Inn. After waiting 5 minutes we had to actually go up to and stand in front of the unattentive waiting staff to let them know we were waiting to be seated. Our starters were almost thrust into our hands rather than placed on the table and considering 2 of the starters were soup, we were lucky it didn't spill onto us! I had the whitebait which I found to be saturated in oil. Our main courses were served without any cutlery and when we called the waiter, he barked at us that he would be back. We found this man extremely brusque and his attitude most unfriendly. Needless to say, we won't be recommending the Queen Inn to anyone!

Unfortunately despite the setting we found the Queen Inn very disappointing, food average to poor, service terrible and when complained about the experience came up against an overly defensive attitude of 'everyone else likes it'. Expensive and relying on a reputation built years ago.

Friendy staff, average but expensive food, grumpy landlord wandering round looking for a sense of humour. Nice location.
