A few friends & I spent a weekend walking in the Forest of Bowland around Slaidburn, Newton and Whitewell. Stayed at the Hark to Bounty, arriving for breakfast on Sat am - good food, service & welcome. Arrived back early evening after a good walk, a quick change and a few beers and dinner - again both excellent with a very broad selection to suit all tastes, again with very good friendly service. Bedrooms were all very good, some with a little local history thrown in. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was as per Saturday - all top drawer. An excellent weekend made all the better for choosing the right place to stay.
