the hotel was lovely, the service was always friendly and cleanliness was excellent. on arrival we were greeted and were helped with out luggage into the hotel. the breakfast was lovely, and we used the bar on one night and although small it was still nice to sit and have a drink out on the front of the hotel and relax. we used the pool on a few occasions and found it perfect, the temperature was good and there were plenty of sun loungers around. over this was a perfect hotel (staff, rooms, food, location, price, facilities) we shall definatley be returning here next time we visit the isle of wight!

I would thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel. The rooms are of excellent quality as is the decor. Cleanliness was superb and the staff go out of the way to help you. On arrival we were welcomed, asked to take a seat and given a map of Shanklin where our host showed us where all the eating places in the town/old village were and his personal recommendations. (The Belmont does not do evening meals). On the second day on mentioning that we might take a look at the Isle of Wight by bus the person serving breakfast, stopped what he was doing, and ran through the bus times with us. Obviously, it was a bit too early to try the outdoor pool which isn't heated until May but it looked nice if a bit small. The hotel has a small bar but not being great drinkers we didn't use it. Overall, if you want a quite hotel, in an excellent location (rooms either have sea or garden views) you could do worse than book at the Belmont. We shall certainly be returning in the not too distant future. Rating 9/10 (10 if they did evening meals)
