visited sunday lunch time. As were having meal at night the two of us decided to have one meal between us. Ordered 1 large wine and pint of beer while made choice. Returned to order and asked for 2 sets of cutlery as we were sharing. Was told no don't do sharing, could only have 1 set of cutlery, this by the landlord. Would have ordered another 2 drinks but after that just waited for food. The food was poor but that was irrelevant. I have never been in a pub and been told a meal could not be shared. Most are just happy for the custom as drinks were bought at the same time. Obviously the landlord was happy to do without customers so he will be pleased to know that he will certainly do without us.

Visited on 9th Sept 2009 and was disappointed by the lack of customer service from the whole staff. I fancied the Lamb Cutlets (which come with Chips and Salad [or choice of potatoes or rice]), my friend had the Steak Pie which came with chips and vegetables. When I asked if I could have vegetables instead of salad I was told "No!" by both the waiter AND the manager. When asked why, we were told that "the Lamb Cutlets had NEVER been served with vegetables and they WOULD NOT serve them for me"! I WILL NEVER EAT IN THIS PUB AGAIN with the current attitude shown by the management and the chef! Compare and Contrast; the previous evening we had been at the Black Horse in Foxton and when I asked if I could have Baked Beans with my Gammon Steak, they said that they'd see what they could do. Ten minutes later my plate arrived WITH BAKED BEANS on. Now that's what I call service!
