We booked to stay at The White Horse for a Saturday night as we had a child-free weekend and were so pleased to have chosen this country pub. Nick welcomed us and showed us to our fab room. I understand there are 5 rooms altogether, each very spacious and individual. We chose to eat there in the evening (room cost is £65 instead of £85 if you eat in) and the food was fantastic. The menu includes locally sourced produce and not only was it presented beautifully, it tasted delicious!!!!!!!! The staff were attentive all evening and we were really well looked after but not rushed. Breakfast in the morning was just as good. It is a great base for lovely walks in nearby Amberley, Arundel and also Goodwood. Worth visiting just to sample the food at lunch or dinner but I would recommend staying over to enjoy the whole White Horse hospitality. We'll be going back soon!!

Our son got married in the local church and we stayed at the White Horse Inn.It is very comfortable and the staff wonderful, they couldn't do enough for you.We had a large party for a meal on the Friday the food was great, and the prices were a nice surprise.I would suggest they put some form of lighting for those returning after closing time.Keep up the good work.Sorry about walking off with the key,on it's way back to you as I type

Just like to say that our stay was fantastic. The staff and the food was excellent. We stayed for one night in the room with the four poster. The bed was really comfortable and it was really warm and cosy in the pub. The beer was reasonably priced and the food such good quality
I would return and really reccommnd.

I stayed in the White Horse Inn Feb 2009 with my wife and two other couples. The food and the staff were very good in the evening and coped brilliantly with a full restaurant. I had lunch there as well and I must say the sausages were the best I have ever had..
Just a little constructive feedback from my friends and I, unfortunately there was no hot water in two of our rooms on the evening we arrived and the next morning. This was difficult as we hiked in the afternoon and could not bathe for dinner. No alternative facility was offered and there was no reduction in the price of the rooms for the person who paid. The owner did offer my wife a bottle of Champagne for her discomfort.
The four-poster bed is beautiful but is embarrassingly squeaky and the water pump in the adjacent cupboard is very noisy. The bedrooms are lovely but my bathroom lacked a toilet roll holder, a toilet brush and adequate shelving for toiletries.
The final bill for the meal and the accommodation was not cheap and whilst the food was great there is little bad taste left in the mouth.

Well, what an amazing meal. We went for lunch for my birthday and I feel I must write a review. Being in the catering trade it is not very often that you can completely enjoy a meal out but it was certain not the case at The White Horse.
You could not fault the service or any part of the meal. The meal was freshly cooked and the homemade ice creams were to die for.
Well worth a trip out for special occasion or just for lunch. I am sure I will be returning many more times. 12 if my dad has anything to do with just to work his was through the menu.
Thank you. Nanette
