Hi We were a party of 9 I rang a few days previously to ask if we book a table I was told no but if I called during the day it may be possible. I telphoned contiually during the day but there was no reply. So we just turned up and waited for a table. We were taken through and was told someone would come and clear the table. no one came we asked the waiter/waitress who went to get a cloth We proceeded to order food. The food was delicious but unfortunately 7 of us had finnished our meal before the other two got there's plus we had to ask were the food was plus one of the meals arrived luke warm and had to be sent back We had to ask for cutlery some was brought but not enough so had to ask again. We ordered puddings with the waitress but again we had all finished eating and one of us was still waiting we had to ask again where it was before it arrived. Such a shame such amazing food but such very very poor service. We were a family group meeting up from different parts of the UK and were really looking forward to our meal out after a very busy day xmas shopping. - Very disapointing not even an apology.

Had expected an excellent meal but found that the service was very poor, the young man taking orders at the bar was surly, my husband ordered two Ploughmans for which we waited at least 30 mins. to arrive. The menu stated ham, cheese, apple, salad leaves, pickle, tomato, and a rustic roll. This roll really was rustic, it felt as if it had just come out of a freezer, was heavy and inedible. The ham and cheese were ok, the pickle I would say out of a jar nothing special, the apple dry, and the salad leaves were coated with a dressing which I couldn't eat, much rather have them plain and added my own. We also ordered two small pots of tea. My husband could see these being made, and thinking we would have them immediatly we waited, and waited, and waited. The staff seemed to be more interested in talking than serving. About twenty minutes later our tea arrived, tepid and stewed. I'm afraid we will not be going there again, it was a complete waste of money. That evening we had a meal at the local Little Chef, excellent service, the meal cooked fresh as we watched, a perfect steak at a fraction of the cost.
