I stumbled upon this pub by accident as I was driving on a a different backroad following someone else's directions the other day.I was surprised at seeing it there unnoticed by my husband and myself for the 15 years we have lived in the area! It looked attractive from outside and I wanted to come back to investigate it further...tonight was the night! My husband and I had had a long hard day and fancied a drink and a meal out perhaps so I took hin th the 7 stars. We were rewarded with a lovely evening. Both my husband and I were in the catering/hospitality trade in our past and recognised an establishment thet deserves to do well.It is now run by new owners who said they had been their for a few months. The welcome and service was warm and inviting, as was their lovely roaring log fire. The locals were inroduced by the landlord and we were invited to join in with conversation. The London Pride ale my husband so enjoys was well kept and myself as the designated driver enjoyed fair priced Coke that wasn't over diluted by a greedy landlord as is so common in pubs these days! We decided to eat and selected both from the menu and special fish board. The starters were very good and the main courses even better. My husband had seared tuna cooked to perfectio and I enjoyed a melt in the mouth rib eye steak with a to-dye-for wild mushroom sauce. We were given generous portions of everything and the vegetable accompaniments were plenty and cooked to perfection. We came away highly impressed with everything from the ambience of the pub and the care of the hosts to the quality of the food and the reasonable cost of the food and drinks. The menu is not huge nor elaborate but provides for the clients of the moment and is cooked well with good presentation.Give the couple time to build up trade and I am sure they can expand their menu accordingly in short time. I recommend The 7 Stars in Bottlesford most highly to anyone reading this and wish you a similar good experience if you too should venture to this tucked away pub.We certainly will be going back again. In fact we are saddened that due to other busy commitments we have coming up in the next few weeks it is likely we won't be able to find time to go till after Xmas. Sarah(and husband Oli) Iselin
