Our party of four had lunch at The Dacre Arms on Monday 23 April. What a terrible experience. The pub is suffering from a total lack of investment of any kind. Dirty threadbare carpets and very poor food. I ordered casserole with dumplings but was informed they had run out of dumplings but could serve Yorkshire puddings with this dish. When this arrived the meat was of such poor quality over cooked and absolutely inedible. This was sent back to be replaced by steak pie which was only marginaly better. I am 70 years old and have NEVER sent a meal back in my life. If The Dacre Arms is to suceed in todays world someone will have to get their act together and spend some money on a good clean-up as well as looking at quality control. I have know this pub for over 50 years and it WAS a first class pub, not any more. Do yourselves a favour, avoid this run down place at all costs.

Food lovely,as always, but the furnishings could do with a good clean/refurb as there was a definite stall sweaty smell to the pub .Come on management buck up and keep on top of the game.
