My partner and I decided to eat at the Angel as we strolled around the grounds of Bolton abbey in a blanket of fog and leaves. Having made a telephone booking that afternoon we found our selves with limited table choice as it was fairly quiet and only part of the inn was open. After looking at the menu we went for a main of duck, (pink) and my partner had the partridge. The food came in good time and looked very appetizing and most of all, delicious. There is an extensive wine menu and wine shop although a little pricey. The desserts were disappointing having had such a wonderful main course, 'bland' is what springs to mind. Over all a charming Inn with efficient staff, average prices and would recommend The Angel if you like your "grapes".
