This is a great pub/restaurant. We were there on a visit from California last year, and just loved it... so much so, in fact, that we are going back in September 2008!
Keep up the good work.

My friend and I had a room booked for us and we were very dissapointed to be put in an adapted for disabled room. We were given the excuse when asked that it was the only one of two twin bedded rooms avaiable.
We went to the dining room on the Saturday morning for our breakfast assuming that it was included in the price. We were given tea/coffee and toast but never told we had to pay for it. When I asked for apple juice the waitress said she would fill the juices up and when I went to get a glass there was only orange. When I asked the other waitress she advised that you don't do apple juice! why didn't she tell me?
We declined the breakfast, just drinking the tea/coffee but were charged for it.
My point is that you should make it quite clear that the breakfast is NOT included in the price before it is placed in front of you.

Booked a superior double room in the Kings Head, wow! What a room! Superb bathroom with huge roll top bath, massive shower and heated slate floor, nice touch!
Bed was huge and very comfortable, bed is upstairs from the bathroom, all very clean and well presented.
Room was off a courtyard which is also very well maintained with easy access to the square and rear of the bar.
very peacful, tranquil and romantic for a couples getaway.
Bar was excellent, great stock of ales, wines and even coctails. Restaurant is highly recommended, meals are delicious and well portioned. Service is second to none.
I was highly impressed with my stay at the Kings Head and look forward to staying there again.

ROMANTIC / QUALITY
Absolutely 'superb' accomodation! We stayed in a superior double (and it most certainly was). Enter to black, stone tiled floors. Staircase leads up to an open plan bedroom... contemporary... only a tv up there, so good for your chi energies ;-). Nice lighting... Open the window above the bed in the morning and relax to the fresh air, bird song and peek out at the array of sweet slate rooves. Back to ground floor... antiquey wardrobes and dressers (dressing area if you like?)... through to divine bathroom with huge shower. It is like standing under a water fall - ouch in parts :-)!). There's a free standing bath.. taps in middle and space for two!, one @ each end! :-)... excellent environment in which to share a bottle of wine we found ;-). The 'pad', as it feels, has both underfloor and radiator heating. It is decorated and fitted to a very high standard - classy, quality and it is exceptionally clean and spacious. Very healthy.
Quaint, cosy little pub. Didn't try the food (sorry). Opening out onto Camberwick Green (if you remember that) ha, well, it's a stone square area surrounded by shops you can barely recognise as such. Cute.. very, very cute. Wish we had, had more time to mooch about. We had a huge breaky (as late as possible :-)) at the cafe opposite, which was very popular with walkers, cyclists and even rendezvousing lovers (we discovered, but then I am very nosey and chatty)! It took us quite some time and investigating to locate the cafe, as it simply doesn't 'appear' to be functional at all, as anything from the outside, whilst it was in fact, very busy <<< selection of newspapers available ;-).
Well done designers and planners. Bliss.
Good choice. 9 out of 10. Enjoy :-).
