I agree with prvious reviewer. This is a pub that I know very well indeed having lived in dorking until I was 21. Popped in for lunch on dec 19th. Admittedly they were busy but the very average sandwich took 45 minutes to arrive and there was no smile to be found from any of the staff. Felt like they were doing us a favour really.

Loved this pub a few years ago. Went back today for lunch. Welcome didn't exist.Service was unsmiling, slow and disinterested although it was New Years Eve. Prices are low but so was the standard of the food. Tiny portion of chips with nasty, unappetising piece of frozen haddock. These people shouldn't be in this business.A smile and a kind word would have been nice - Feel standards are now so bad in Dorking that pub grub is a thing of the past, unless you are prepared to eat rubbish. Very sad.
