This is a great working class campsite, a real gem, when they say bucket and spade, read beer and bingo, I love a drink and smoke with my kids as well as a laugh and most people here do too, so however over the top you are theres not many snobbish prigs to look down their noses at you. The toilet block is great for manly banter, and the showers are from memory unisex, so there's always a chance of a slipped towel, know what I mean!!! Rubbish is easily got rid of, there's a huge pile of it behind a piece of lap larch fence next to reception that gets emptied now and again. The only downside is that on high tide, the beach with easy access from the campsite becomes cut off from Harlyn Bay Beach (the big beach that you see on their website) the small beach you can get to becomes overcrowded so this means a long cliff top walk to get your fridge down to the big beach, and your Mrs will moan when she has to do several trips back and forth to get all the kids stuff down.

I was very disappointed with the staff. We arrived early and asked for a pitch near the toilets because we were staying in a folding camper and had no toilet. They were very unhelpful and unaccommodating. There is a charge for the showers of 20 pence which was just long enough for the water to start getting warm and then stop. There was also a charge for the swimming pool even though there was no changing rooms or showers. ( if you wanted a shower you had to go outside and round the block to the ones that you pay for ) not very good when you have a young family or like me and are embarassed to walk about in my swimming costume. I have been to better sites and paid a lot less.
