We visited Widend with my young son and my wife in our tent. We were shown a pitch which was on a really steep slope and when we complained that we didnt drive for 4 hours to pitch on a hill, they belatedly moved us onto a relatively flat pitch. Too be honest we stayed here 4 nights and it is a nice site in a quiet area but really needs redevelopment as it looks very shabby in places. The Play park has equipment missing and is very run down, The showers near the pool are a joke and a regular there told me to forget using them altogether and use the ones at the back on the site, which were better but then you have 5 showers for 500 people so queues are obvious. Would I go back? Not until i heard they had updated and spent some money on the site.

i am a single parent and took my6 year old daughter to widend camping for the first time. The weather was terrible with really high winds for a couple of days. The people that work there could not have beeen more helpful in telling m howto secure my tent. Even though the weather was bad my daughter and i had a fantastic holiday and hopre to be going back again in 2008 the entertainment for the children was great and i felt so safe on the sight, which when you are on you own with a child you need to feel secure. i would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for a great holiday.
