Charming small private hotel, good points... Real honest friendly genuine customer service like been looked after by friends !!!!! and i had only just arrived .. very good bedrooms and modern bathroom ,pleasant grounds no stately home of course but hey i paid £90 for dinner bed and breakfast with no restrictions on menu!!!! i,ll just say i,m a foodie and my god i was impressed.... king scallops ,smoked eel, apple and truffle to begin 11 out of 10 ,,,at this point i,m thinking private small 3 star hotel budget room prices and normally dank food .. Not here..it gets better...roast best end of new season lamb with a tiny shepherds pie,a piece of crispy breast and half a kidney and sweetbread ,i was offered if i would like it cooked pink oh yes ,and by jolly it was again 11/10 it came with a few minted new potatoes and some asparagus[english as the waiter told me it was the first of the year...clever beggar]...pudding ..elderflower jelly, strawberries and homemade lemon meringue ice cream..v good ... coffee v good ... lovely friendly service , i was on my own but felt very comfortable with service ,atmosphere and friendliness....... room got in little warm in the night my only gripe .... breakfast again very good service full english looked good on the table next to me but i opted for poached smoked haddock and one egg ..it was fine.... all in all impressive food ,nice place ,great staff you can tell its privately run....excellent value for money....... it does miss a residents lounge because the food is so good the place was busy but no where to go with my coffee a bit quieter... well nothings perfect... but this was near

This Hotel really is an oasis in the middle of a desert, firstly i would recommend it to a friend, so that says how good it is. Quiet location, very friendly, obliging staff, definately family run, we saw the owners helping out when it was busy. Rooms including bathroom worthy of its 3 star status. Food excellent, both for breakfast and in the evening. Plenty of parking, great for visiting Leeds, 20 mins on train from Dewsbury station which is 10 mins from hotel by car.

Good Points: Good friendly service, excellent cooked breakfast. Bar and restaurant areas very good. Facilities in room were comprehensive. Bad Points: Bedroom we had was somewhat dated and required upgrading. General review: Have stayed twice before ~ very convenient for us and pleasant. Bedrooms need updating although rest of hotel more than adequate. Food is very good as is general ambiance of the hotel.

Could not have asked for a friendlier or more accomodating staff. We thought they were exceptional. The food was wonderful. The grounds and hotel were exactly as I pictured since this was my first visit to England. We would definitely stay here again.
