Good Points: Location, attached restaurant Bad Points: Small room, no chairs, very noisy (on main market square and not double glazed) General review: Ipswich was very nice, and hotel in ideal location but was not really worth the money, compared with other English hotels.

Good Points: Very central for Ipswich and had parking facilities Bad Points: I had requested a non smoking room but I don't think they can honestly offer this General Review: Obviously you have to make allowances for this being a very old building, although there are not any apparent original features. Our bedroom overlooked the square which was good and it was clean, but the public areas and stairways were rather shabby and rundown. We were going to try the noodle bar downstairs which looked OK but did not get the chance on our overnight stay. Were asked to leave our car keys in reception when we were not using it, but despite ringing the bell three times and waiting several minutes, no one came!

Good Points: Quirky layout, friendly staff, good food. Bad Points: Staff were sometimes hard to find. General Review: Very nice hotel, although didn't have a traditional lounge/bar arrangement. It did feel like we were the only people to have ever asked to sit and have a drink, but the staff were very helpful and the food in the noodle bar and adjoining weatherspoons was good and very good value.
