The only reason I hesitate to recommend the Fordham Arms, is that if it becomes too popular, I won't be able to get to eat!
Friendly courteous staff, great real ales and a fine selection of wines are a damn good start, and then there is the food! Good Grub! Huge platefuls of absolutely delicious food. Succulent and tasty meat in their Home Made pies, and suberb vegetarian options. Try the Mushroom Strogonoff, not your usual pub rubbish, but absolutely wonderful!
Garden, pool table and good jukebox too (this does not detract from quiet dining at the Other End of the pub)
Go there, it's a bl**dy good pub, and no, I'm not Landlord!
