I visited the Dog Inn for my husbands birthday with 5 others from my family. We were amazed at the size of the menu. The pub is a traditional cosy English pub. The staff were great fun (dressed in halloween costumes), very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and despite how busy they were we didnt wait long, i had scallops in a delicious creamy sauce to start and then the fresh sole for mains, the fish and vegetables were very fresh and cooked to perfection.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definately be back.

Busy friendly pub with welcoming staff, longish wait for the food but worth the wait.I ordered fish and chips, fresh and huge! Kids enjoyed the lovely garden with rabbits to amuse. Excellent real ales and some of the most 'real' and 'happy' staff i've seen in a pub for a long time. Definitely return.

A thoroughly nice atmosphere ruined by semi-edible food. I had misfortune of ordering the cannelloni. While I was expecting a fresh pasta parcel filled with gooey ricotta i was confronted with sloppy out-of-the-tin Heinz lite monstrosity presented on a plate hot enough to melt plastic at forty paces. It was obviously 'fresh' out the microwave and shattered any myth of home-cooking. My wife had fish (i would like to recall which one, but so charcoaled and over-cooked it could have been any one of 6 or 7). Let’s call it tuna. Her tuna was burnt and covered in a crisp coating of whatever herb had been sprinkled over it and the remnants of whatever had been cooked in the pan previously.
The ales were excellent and the service above average.
There was a rather amusing sign also on the menu, stating their commitment to local produce at every opportunity. I fear that the only local produce to make it into that kitchen are the staff. I will trust any integrity the proprietor has that this ‘local produce’ ruse isn’t a bare faced lie.
