Think the last comment is about a different establishment....
We don't serve Carpaccio of Beef, neither do we sell Belgiun Frites.
If you want to write a review about somewhere at least have the decency to do it about the right venue.

This is the 4th time I have had a bad meal from the Woolpack in the last 4-6 months - previously their food was fantastic!
Fish: Batter is way too thick & like glue
Liver: Asked for medium, got it raw
Pasta: Pasta, yes, but no sauce! Just gently wiped with tomato.
Carpaccio of Beef: £9 for 3 small slices of beef which hadn't been seasoned at all. Served with the smallest rocket salad imagineable.
Belgiun Frites: A tiny pot of soggy, thin chips with catering glue (mayo) £3. No thanks!
It feels like they're trying to skimp on portions and quality to save money, but the dishes are in no way cheap so I think they could do much better for the money. It's a shame as the place is done out very well & was our favourite! We'll not eat there again.
If you just want a drink, then it's fine - particularly in the summer. !

The order was placed for a prawn and tuna salad with no red or green peppers, therefore as the chef i asked if that meant no peppers at all. I was told "no, just no red or green pepper". I sent the salad out with yellow pepper as this had been confirmed and it was returned stating "that there was a pepper allergy".
at no time was this mentioned when ordering or on subsequent checking.
We cater for vegetarians, nut allergys and coeliacs (gluten) as my father and sister are gluten intolerant. If I am informed whem the order is placed I can advise what can & can't be eaten/ordered.
I welcome all comments but cannot be slagged off in this way when allergies are not informed to us when ordering. I work 7 days a week and therefore was present when this occured.
The only reason the police were threatened was because this table refused to pay, and any restaurant in the same position would do the same.
This landlady has been running succesful pubs for over 15 years and will continue to do so as long as she does not give free meals away to everybody who has no reason to complain but does so anyway!

We went to The Woolpack pub to celebrate my daughters G.C.S.E results, we have been many times before both just for a drink and for a meal. My parents were with us, my mother ordered the tuna and prawn salad, with no peppers as she is violently allergic, her exact words were" no peppers please, not red or green, no peppers at all", we were assured this was not problem, however the salad arrived with yellow peppers on it, The meal was politely returned and arrived again closely folowed by the landlandy who was extremely rude and told us in future when we order something if we don't want something on the plate we should specify, however she would "let it go this time" but she wouldn't again, she was unnessarily rude and aggressive. My husband went to the bar to calmly talk about her unnecessary rudeness and attitude to be met with more rudeness, we were threaten with the police, told to pay our bill and get out and not come back. We left without dessert or coffee. The waiting staff were totally apologetic and couldn't have been nicer. I am 40 years old and have NEVER been asked to leave a pub in my life! But the landlady is obviously totally unsuited to working within this environment. I had arranged a work leaving party to take place at this pub however not suprisingly the venue will now be changed.
