we had a fair but not exciting meal, then a sweet was ordered with Creme Fresh.Wilkipedia says (Crème fraîche is a soured cream containing about 28% butterfat and with a pH of around 4.5. It is soured with bacterial culture, but is less sour than sour cream.) the serving of custard instead was not acceptable and we returned the sweet and they still insisted on charging.
Even the Custard served had the tast of a commercial boxed type of custard..
may attitude of female on the Till get better as it will be a long time before i wish to return, and there prices are rising just in time for the christmas period. the standard has slipped. i dont think i will want to return, as there are better places to eat than there..

Lovely location, nice food, bad attitude from staff who are painfully miserable and behave as though they don't really need your custom at all....charming indeed!!

A super ride up Bilsdale culminated in lunch at the Bay Horse in Gt Broughton. What a culinary delight. My companion and I decided to select from the Two courses for &7.45 offer and both elected to have Roast of the day and Cherry Brandy Torte. On ordering we were told the Roast Pork (Roast of the Day) was sold out but we could have Pork Chop instead. This came with Yorks Pudd and Gravy with a separate dish of New Pots. Cabbage Carrots and Flat Peas in Pods.
This course was satisfying very adequate and scrumptious. The Cherry Brandy Torte was exquisite and the whole meal was excellent value for money. Definitely on the list to call again!!
