Good Points: Friendly staff.
Bad Points: Hotel needed complete refurbishment. For one couple we had one bathtowel and one hand towel. Heating too much and unable to open window. Made reservations for Christmas dinner when we booked the hotel and were told in the restaurant that they had no record and it wasn't possible.
General review: Sadly disappointing as we knew the hotel from several years ago.

Great location, and appearance of hotel lovely. Reception staff friendly and helpful, restaurant bright airy and comfortable. Rooms a great size and homely.
Where to start! See general review.
Floor in bedroom had not been vacuumed, fluff and other people's hair all over it - nice!
Was late for supper as we'd been out with friends in the afternoon and arrived back late. Did inform reception and they were fine. Got to restaurant and got a roll of the eyes from the waitress - it was 8.50, table was booked for 8.30, OK, it's not ideal but we had informed the reception at least. Ordered red wine and got white (was changed) staff were rather rude, no customer service skills at all, but meal was adequate.
Breakfast:- dirty bowls on the cereal table, asked for more, and clean ones were dumped on top of dirty ones. Asked twice for toast and didn't receive any so just gave up. Breakfast was of good quality aside from the service.
Just a lack of attention to detail. I'm aware it's not a 5* establishment, but basic cleanliness, good manners to customers, and slightly higher standards, would have made it a really memorable stay rather than a very average one.
Would like to stay again as location is so central for touring Kent, and Sevenoaks is such delightful town, but will be wary.
