Having read some excellent reviews, my friend and I were looking forward to trying The Bull Inn at Sissinghurst.
What a disappointment. Arrived Wed 1st June at 1.45pm and asked to see the menu for a bar snack.
The rather unenthusiastic big bloke behind the bar handed me a bar menu and just turned away.
I went to the table where my friend was seated (in the garden) to ask what she wanted and we both decided to go for The Bull Burger, So I ordered the so called "Bull Burger." I went back to the bar to order the drinks and I have to say that the attitude of the bar staff left allot to be desired.
I got the drinks and went back to the garden and was struck by the amount dirty plates and cutlery that had been left on the tables.
We soon began to notice just how rundown the and tired the pub was looking, the vast majority of garden furniture was delapidated and showed evidence of dog chewing.
When the food arrived we were presented with a burger in a bun with a large wooden stick rammed through attached to a Large Battered Onion Ring.
The chips were presented in a sort of Mug, large chunky chips but not many!
The burgers were fairly tasteless and only the tomato sauce saved the day.
The Bull Inn was obviously once a very well run establishment that prided itself on Community, High Standards of Food, Drink and Service.
Not anymore, the pub looks tired and in need of investment. The Landlord was not welcoming at all, gave the impression that he just did not want to be there!
The main bar looks like a large living room with various items of leather seating and what really shocked me was when I saw two of the landlords black dogs sprawlled out across a leather sofa.
The pub has a flat screen TV however no Sky programmes
I have given The Bull Inn a score of very average simply because the garden was large and nice but will not be returning!

We chose pastas because other meals were very expensive (scampis 15 pounds, we found very good scampis in Hastings for 6 pounds !). Pastas were not good and very poor !
We advise you to avoid this pub !
