We stayed for one night and given a lovely warm Lancastrian welcome. The bedrooms are beautifully refurbished if slightly small. Our room had a nice seat looking out over the river.
The food was fabulous. Mussels/Bury Black Pudding - delicious followed by Fish and Chips and Hot Pot - both perfect. Reasonably priced wine to go with it. The staff were so friendly.
Breakfast choice was also very good and cooked wonderfully.
I would definitley recommend this pub for accommodation and the food is superb.

When booking, nobody mentioned that a live band were booked & would be playing until around 1.30 in the morning. I am a 31 yr old contractor who enjoys a night out. I work away from home most of the year, so stay in B&B regularly. Because of this, my tolerance to noise is greater than average I would say, weather it be from disco's & pubs nearby, drunken guests in the room next door, traffic from a busy road adjecent road, whatever I can usually tolerate it. The noise I refer to on this occasion can only be described as having the drum kit set up next to your bed. Also the sign says "help yourself to breakfast", lots of nice cereals to choose from but no milk, lots of jams & spreads to choose from but no bread. At £45 for a nice sized, clean double room, it's very reasonably priced, unless that is, you actually want a BED & BREAKFAST. The type of bed you can sleep in, and the type of breakfast you can eat! A VERY DISAPOINTING EXPERIENCE.
