One of the last few remaining true English
watering hole, known locally for it's friendly
and welcoming atmosphere. No smell of frying chips, a most accommodating landlord and landlady, and the beer is to die for.
Also the local hostelry of Blakey, the Ist Earl of Ordsall.
Impromptu musical events with guitars and drunken singing are not to be missed.
Outside entertainment during the summer months includes, shut the box and Mr.& Mrs. with Carl and Erica.
New for 2008 we have comedy University Challenge
evenings featuring the Gates own team consisting of Tony, reading gas meters, Audrey, reading road maps,Blakey(capt) reading everything in the universe, and Eileen reading the riot act.
Come and join us, you won't be disappointed.
