Stayed, along with a friend, in the garden room - a room with two singles and a double alongside the outside drinking area. Basic but perfectly ok. What I had not bargained for and what had not been explained to me at all was that Saturday night was live band night. If that is your scene, great; but if you want an early or quiet night, forget it. The noise levels were intolerable. The band played at full volume (heaven help those in the same room - our floor boards several rooms away were reverberating)and the garden room was packed with people enjoying themselves. They all have every right to be there, but I do think that the Market House has a responsibility to point out the levels of noise that have to be endured on a Saturay night and for how long. Locals may well know, as indeed they do, about it, but we poor folks who land for a night, need information. Breakfast was good the following morning - substantial and cheerfully served. How much better it would have been, had we been able to get a good night's sleep. I would not want to deny anyone else their pleasure and consequent loss of hearing, but I would rather had not had to share it, had I had advance information.
