We dropped in for food on the way back from the cinema and were welcomed in for a fantastic meal and even kept the kitchen open.
We would highly recommend a visit.

We saw the Red Cow advertised in the Admag, we had driven past it numerous times and thought we would pay a visit. We phoned for directions and booked a table for 12/12.15. On arrival the barman was polite and helpful and we went to our table with our drinks and menus. Unfortunately the good experience ended there. The table was cramped, despite the place being almost empty we had been put in a tightly squeezed area when there were other, more spacious tables available. We ordered. The food arrived in good time but was disappointing. The plaice was obviously a frozen item from a packet, the chips were undercooked and hard. As for the baguette and butter, well the baguette tasted like it had been frozen (it was dry on the outside rather than crusty) and the butter was frozen and unspreadable, what did they think we were going to be able to do with it? Even at the end of the meal it was still too hard to spread! My ham and pineapple was fairly unremarkable, it was tasteless. The best part of my meal was the new potatoes, they were lovely, shame about the rest. When we left the barman saw us go and gave no hint of acknowledgement, no one approached us during the meal to find out if we were happy. Under the circumstances we just left feeling very deflated and disappointed. It's a shame the they have spoliled a lovely pub with second rate food. We won't be going back, sorry!!
