Clean, comfortable and well-sized rooms, all with their own quirky features due to the age of the original building. The service was efficient and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent. This hotel offers the best all round value for money that I have come across for a long time. Ideally situated for visitors to this lovely area. We shall certainly be back again!

I have been living in hotel rooms as a business traveller for over 14yrs and can honestly say this was the most disgusting hotel I have stayed in. The room had a stale smell (room 9), there was hair in the bath and on the toilet seat, the vinyl floor covering in the bathroom was filthy. The bed quilt had numerous stains on it. The room was situated next to a main road and therefore extremely noisy (albeit that is not the hotel's fault). All I ask is that a room is clean... One positive comment - that food was quite good!

Lovely Inn, full of character. Beautifully furnished spacious superior room. Have to say that the breakfast was a massive let down. Not offered more toast, coffee pot not replenished and food on hot plate looked decidedly 'tired'.

An excellent inn with great food, friendly staff and very clean - well appointed rooms. The breakfast was superb. Why anyone on business in the area would choose to stay in any of the chain of "lodges" at motorway services etc. when there are gems like this to be found, is beyond my understanding.
