The Anchor is a friendly pub situated in the beautiful town of Sudbury, Suffolk. The establishment offers accommodation in en-suite oak beamed rooms, mixing traditional Dickensian features with modern style. The Anchor attracts local patrons who are incredibly welcoming to customers creating a warm, comfortable drinking atmosphere. During the afternoons the pub restaurant offers a range of delicious meals from light lunches to Sunday roasts all cooked by the professional in-house chef. There has been talk of The Anchor being haunted by a mysterious man in a brown suit; although I did not see anything personally it could have been the spirit of Thomas Gainsborough - a thirty second walk around the corner from The Anchor will take you straight to Gainsborough Gallery which houses the renowned artist's body of work. Whether you want a tasty lunch, a weekend away from the city or a night out on the tiles The Anchor in Sudbury makes for a truly relaxing experience delivered by a dedicated and helpful team of staff.
