We took a friend here for dinner for his 21st Birthday last Friday and I would highly recommend it! I am writing this review as before we went I could not seem to find anything on this pub. There is a wide choice of food available on the menu, plus even more on the specials board. The average price for a main meal was around £8-10, although fillet steak was £16. (Rump was £11). Considering the size and quality of the meals I would say the prices are very fair. Drinks are also reasonably priced, and if you are into your real ales then there is a wide selection available. Food was also served promptly after ordering, and the two that had steaks said they were both spot on! Bearing in mind that we went on a Friday evening, I was fairly surprised that the restaurant was not too busy (about half full). We had booked a table but when we got there we were able to choose any one we wanted. Probably the best part about the evening was how accommodating the staff were. As it was our friend's 21st, we had already bought him a small cake and candles, and following a quiet word in one of the waiter's ears, we gave them the cake and candles to bring out following the dinner. This they did, complete with a bit of 'Happy Birthday' singing, much to the surprise of our friend. As if having our cake and eating it wasn't enough, once we received the bill we were quite pleasantly surprised to find that they had missed off a couple of rounds! (Whether this was an accident or not we are not sure but we did keep quiet, however we did give them a nice tip!) Total cost for a meal for four people £44 - not bad at all! If you get the opportunity then definitely go there, I will certainly be revisiting!
