Just what Chippenham has been waiting for! It is such a relief to finally have a decent restaurant in Chippenham. The Rose and Crown has had a bad reputation for years so I was quite dubious about going there for a meal but was convinced by a couple of my friends that it was well worth it, and it certainly was. There is an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs at work and to see them so delicatly and precisely plating the food was a pleasure to watch. I had a beautiful goats cheese salad to start followed by the duck leg cassoulet. my husband went for the chicken liver parfait and the rib eye steak which was perfectly cooked. I was determined to have a dessert after such a lovely main meal but i just couldnt manage a whole one, so we shared a chocolate fondante with white chocolate ice cream. Divine! The whole experience was fantastic. The food, the great service and even better, it didnt cost the earth! I would highly reccommend this to anyone and everyone.
