My friends and I were extremely disappointed in our visit to the cross keys nafferton where we are normally more than pleased with ,which is why we chose to go this evening, we were told we could not book any earlier than 5.30 so we did just that and booked at 5.30 we arrived 5.25 bought a drink asked for menus which are normally offered to you ! We told the blonde bar person we had booked for 5.30 there was no explanation that we would be delayed by what ended up been an hour !!! We were sat at our table at 6.30 alongside another family with a six month old baby ! They booked at 5.30 so as could eat before baby's bedtime when our meal arrived the veggies were piping hot and perfect. Just could not say the same for the meat it tasted greasy and smelt greasy also you could tell the Yorkshire pudding was warmed up ! We were offered more veg which did not arrive until our meal was almost finished ! We also ordered a round of drinks which were forgotten about ! Until yet again we had to remind ! We ended up feeling sorry for the family next to us as the baby obviously started to be a little gripey so we offered to hold the baby while they ate there much waited for meal ! They said they were wanting a dessert just as we had planned ! But could not bare the wait ! Myself and the father of the baby at the other table spoke to petros himself to complain about the whole experience he definatley looked stressed and was doing all the cooking and was not his normal charming happy very efficient friendly self ! Although I can appreciate he can not be in two places at once his presence was certainly missed at the front of house like I said. Previously ,he is always a pleasure to see and a very pleasant man and myself and many friends have had excellent meals and service there I think if petros was going to Be in the kitchen all evening he should have made sure his bar staff Looked after his guests as well as he always has in my past experiences and kept people up to date with the time delay
