A lovely couple of pints of theakstons a glass of wine for the lady and a wonderful roast dinner went down so well and the real fire was gorgeous. The staff and locals were friendly and a credit to the dales. The actual pub is OK, but food is not large portions and is not home cooked (we saw the lorry delivering frozen) Beer Garden is a mess and they drive a 4x4 in whilst you are eating 2 foot away, they also allow the delivery lorry to back into beer garden...thanks for all the exhaust fumes during our dinner. you can only get to beer garden by going out the front of the pub and back round the side owners decided to starting using a drill right next to us aswell as letting their dog harrass ours continuously. I'd try the other pub in Askrigg, you might get some consideration their.

A real pub. Friendly staff, good beer and good food (large helpings) at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
