went in last weekend and was really suprised, i have seen a few old reviews of this place and was glad to see that they seem to put a spark back in, good old pub decor it was all nice and clean, staff seemed friendly and pulled a good pint, and they had a really good selection of ales all displayed on a board they have on the wall. place was quite busy but every one got served quick which is always a good thing to look out for. they had a banner outside to say under new management and from what iv read it seems that they have improved the place so il be going back in i recon there were a few dogs in now im more of a cat person but they were all good and no barking so i wasnt too botherd and bar staff all seemed up for a laugh and joke too

Good old pub style decor and tasty selection of real ales, however bar staff were very dour and unwelcoming and no sign of landlord & landlady until late on when they came to close the bar and were most disrespectful - unfortunately a most unfriendly pub with poor company, and one which should make you want to return, but doesn't - not a place you would choose for an ideal friendly night out
