Are we talking about the same place? I've never had a bad meal here and i'm a local, probably visit once a week, the menu changed several months ago and they don't even have Thai fish cakes on the menu !!! the reason why I know this is because my wife eats fish cakes. The menu is varied, and the specials are always changing infact I would say its never been better since the new chef and his team started! Its always welcoming and fires were roaring away last night, a lovely and enjoyable evening. I suggest to the previous reviwer to go back and you cant get food poisoning in 2 hours !!! I would highly recommend this pub

The Ford is my local. but it has really gone down in the past year. I keep trying but no improvement. It did used to be good then staff changed and everything deteriorated. T

You must have picked a bad day. We meet our family about once every six weeks a the The Ford as it is halfway between us and have never had a bad meal nor any problem with the hygiene. I have been in catering for over 20 years and believe me would not return if I did not think it was excellent. Any family who come down from Scotland this is where we take them and they NEVER had any complaints. We enjoyed our meal last week we are looking forward to meeting the family today again. Please do try it again.

Had a drive to Holmfirth due to nice weather on 9/2/08 and came across the Ford Inn so called in for something to eat. We found the staff to be very welcoming and food very nice.

This is a lovely pub, very pleasant location and decour. Unfortunately the food served is very overpriced and below average. None of it seemed home made and it was very poor value. The beer was awful, I tried two different real ales and both were of such poor quality that they had to go back - i think if i'd drunk either of them I'd have made myself ill. I'd avoid this place if i were you.
