Good Points: The front desk staff were excellent and went above and beyond.
General review: Very nice experience - the staff more than made up for the datedness of the room. Nicest most professional staff I have encountered in a while

Briefly - this hotel is in general very recommendable. Lovely spacious foyer, very comfortable room, good quality food. Set menu £19.95 had food choice and reasonable portions, served piping hot (where appropriate) and presented well. Friendly staff all round. The downer? £7.95 for a large glass of (admittedly reasonable quality) red wine...and the bar prices in general. As for value for money overall - rather depends how much you're actually charged and who is paying, doesn't it!
