What an excellent place this was, read some previous reviews and was not disappointed. Excellent food in either the restaurant, the bar or at breakfast. The staff were polite and friendly, which is not surpising as the owners really make you feel welcome. The room was very generous in size and clean with all the usual extras of tea, coffee, biscuits etc... The bar was well stocked and the real ale was an excellent local brew by Sulwath. We will definately use the manor hotel when in Dumfries

Good Points: outstanding restaurant food, worth the stay for the food alone, which made it good value for money.
Bad Points: seriously needs renovation and investment. Better signage on the road would also help.
General review: This hotel has great potential to become first-rate: excellent staff, wonderful food and a friendly and ambitious proprietor, but the exterior appearance, public rooms and bedrooms don't at present match up to the quality of food in the restaurant.

Very friendly hotel with fantastic food from an extensive menue. Quality wines at very reasonable prices. Rooms smart with the extra comforts you expect from much larger hotels.
I have no problem in reccomending for holiday or business. We will return
