A chichester dweller, and not having visited Cassons before, puts me to shame. We finally tried Cassons last night and were absolutely blown away by, firstly the warm efficient welcome, and then the food that followed.
It was hot, so we sat in the garden for our predinner drinks which were accompanied by gorgeous canapes.
The menu is really well balanced and it took quite a while to choose as there wasnt much on there that I didnt want.
However, I settled for seared Scallops on Potato Blinis with Sauce Vierge which was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and visually perfect.
For my main I had the fish of the day which was Halibut served on the most aromatic Lobster Consomme with new potatoes, asparagus and Sea Beet.
My husband had the Belly of Pork whose crackling was to die for.
We both had the 'pudding of the night' which was Raspberry Pavlova with cream and Elderflower Sorbet.
Altogether a fantastic evening. Will definately return on a regular basis.
