I went to this restaurant with friends on the strength of the TV programme. What a mistake! I didn't actually mind the decor or the music, but the biggest letdown was the food. It was so bland and tasteless. It didn't even have basic seasoning. The waitresses were all huddled in a group most of the time chatting to each other.Starters were missed off our order and the service was pretty forgetful. A really disappointing experience and I agree with other people who have said you could do better at home or at a take away. Certainly won't be visiting again or recommending to anyone.

One word...WOW! I'm a well travelled person who enjoys a good meal - especially far eastern cusine. I was recommended this restaurant by a friend who lives local whilst passing through and his recommendation was very greatly received. I have been to the Hakkasan and Kai in London, two Michelin starred Chinese restaurants, and Yu & You in my eyes could quite easily hold their own against them. From the warm welcome, Cocktail selection, to the service and obviously the food - just a breath of fresh air. I honestly do not understand the negative comments previously written. Yes it is a dark restaurant but that creates an intimate setting, the music is modern but quite chilled, I would say an Ibiza chillout vibe. The service of the staff was fantastic, polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I started with the Hot & Sour soup, had a nice tingle to it and full of flavour. I then had the Tempura Squid and a Dim Sum Platter - The squid was cooked perfectly in a lovely batter and the Dim Sum platter just delicious! For the main course I decided to have Steamed Seabass and boiled rice. The Seabass just melted in your mouth and as just devine. Overall a very plesant experience, I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will be sure to visit again next time I'm in the area.

Stopped here unplanned. Awful place, horrible dark noisy atmosphere, noisy thumping music, hoards of young staff standing around with nothing to do other than keep interuppting your eating. Food overpriced and unappetising. Made better at home. Like eating in a tacky nightclub. Complained at the time and only got an 'oh' in response. Wrote to complain and still havent had a response. Very unproffesional.

I have been to this restaurant many times as there aren't many chinese restaurants in this area. However time and time again I find the bar staff very ignorant and pretencious. It's strange when the customer who arrived in a Ferrari after u is telling the staff that other guests are to be served before them. Manners x. Customers have them but shame there seems a lack of amongst the staff. My final visit. Cheers. Rather have a take a way thanks.

Called in on spec at 5.30 p.m. - heard some good reports. Saturday evening and every table booked, however the top man interviened and said he had a table at 6.30 as long as we could vacat by 8.30. - deal! We went to a lovely local pub - The Bonny Inn for a drink and returned at 6.30. The decor is well thought out - minimalist but not stark - relaxing. Smart staff are dotted around the tables attentively looking to be of help. Hot and sour soup to die for, crispy duck almost too much - 5 or 6 pancakes each and then the freshest beef in black bean I've tasted. It's pricey but by gum you get what you pay for in service and excellent food. Proof of quality - Paul Heathcote and his family were dining and obviously use it as a local. Thanks a lot.
