Me and my boyfriend adore to taste different food, and we are happy to have discovered Kapadokya Turkish restaurant in York.
The menu varies from vegetarian, fish, different kinds of grills to very old traditional recipies. They are also combining Turkish wines with their dishes, which makes the picture perfect.
I went for Kapadokya special, a 500 years old recipie, it was excellent.
My boyfriend took a mixed grill, a large portion of different meat received on his plate.
The cold and hot starters we got were absolutely nice and tasty. Another reason for recommendation will be the fact that the cleanliness is outstanding and the staff is friendly and perform well.
It has been an unforgettable experience for us and we will definately give it another visit during our next trip to York.
Strongly recommended 5 star!!

I've walked past this place a million times and thought it looked worth a try. We turned up for a takeaway around 7, and found the place ominously quiet. Nonetheless, we made our selections and tried not to be too adventurous. I chose zucchini pancakes and moussaka (which I've made before myself), and my boyfriend chose an aubergine starter and lamb shish main. It was ready promptly and the staff (in our limited time there) were polite. When we got home, we were very disappointed. My zucchini pancakes were of an unappealing texture and not particularly flavourful, but the moussaka was the real let down. Very greasy and utterly bland. My boyfriend felt his meal was also lacking flavour, and he questioned the freshness of the ingredients. Basically we should've known better to go into a restaurant that was quiet while others were busy. I suspect it relies quite heavily on footfall and very little upon repeat business!
