Just to say we stumbled across this restaurant, what a brilliant find. The food was delicious, the ambience was perfect...a great meal.

Went for mothers day lunch
The presentation was excellent and the lamb was pink and succulent, the carrots could have been steamed for another 2 mins, they were a little bit too Al dente
The only complaint that with this wonderful meal we had bottle mint sauce
One of the party had roast pork which was delicious but would have been better if there had been some home made stuffing and crackling with it.
It was very good value for money

Went with friends during a weeks holiday. Beautiful building with lovely ambience. Barney & his staff were very friendly & welcoming. We had, lamb, steak, monkfish, sea bream, mussels and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Good selection of fresh vegetables (a novelty in the area as vegetables appear to be a rareity) cooked to perfection. A little pricey perhaps but it was worth it. Good selection of wine. Would certainly go again when in area.

Had an excellent meal at the Plantagenet House restaurant. The host Barny was very accomadating and helpful. We were surprised to find out many locals use the restaurant on a regular basis, a sign of good consistant quality. We later found out it was the first restaurant in Tenby to be in the good food guide and the list of past customers reads like a who who, there as been Judith Charmers, Kingsley Amis and his son, Martin and president Carter amongs them. Despite being very busy we were well looked after. The steaks were good quality as good as the steaks supplied by Howell butchers in Gower Swansea. It may be a little pricy but you are paying for quality. Much better quality than the Marriott hotel in Swansea. The fish menu is impressive and the use of local produce impressive.Barny pointed out that the desserts were made by his mother in law and very nice they were too. Finished meal off with a couple of vintage ports before our walk back to the accomadation.

My husband and I are highly impressed with Plantagenet restaurant. The staff are of a standard rarely seen outside of world class eateries. We are big travellers and know when we`ve hit on something special. The food is superb,we will definately return when in Wales again.

I am so disgusted the way we were treated at this restaurant I felt I had to write a review. We booked a table for 4 as a special treat for my elderly parents. We ordered 3 lemon sole @ £20 per head and 1 filet steak @ £23.00. When the meal came they served my mother her lemon sole and myself a fillet steak which Although I ordered it medium it was very small and well done, My mother started to debone and take the head off her lemon sole, then waiter then came and told us there was a problem in the kitchen and the other two meals would be served in 4-5 minutes and gave us the option of carrying on with eating our food or he would take it back and serve fresh when the other two meals were ready, we obviously ageed on the latter. 30 minutes went by and all our meals were ready, and to our horror when my father started to debone his lemon sole it was the same lemon sole my mother was served thirty minutes earlier, the head had been carefully put back on and the bones put underneath the fish. That wasnt the end I moved the sauce off my steak to discover the cut in the steak I had made earlier, I had also been served the same steak 30 minutes later. We complained, no apology, just offered to cook us fresh. We had to walk out of the restaurant to the embarrasment of my elderly parents. If you want to go to a restaurant to be treated like this and waste your hard earned cash well this is the one. There are so many good quality restaurants in tenby please dont waste your time with this one.

Very disappointed with the quality, service and price of the food. Ordered sea bass and only had one fillet for £21. Last week ate at another restaurant a few yards away from this and had a whole sea bass for £9 - just can't compare. One of our party had lemon sole and asked if the head could be cut off before serving - were told the chef was too busy! Much too expensive to be enjoyable - would not recommend

just a quick review....
a beautiful building and wonderful food, made to feel very welcome, a little pricey but worth every penny.
Nice quality wines to choose from and a wide choice of food on the menu to choose from.
being vegetarian there is good choice.
Another couple we talked to there also said they had a lovely time,
we will certainly go there again.
