I cannot praise the Forresters Hotel enough. It is so refreshing in this day and age to walk into a cosy, friendly bar and not only be greeted by very chatty and friendly staff, but to sit down to a homemade British dish. The beer was well kept, the room was fantastic( and cheap) but the food was out of this world. I ate Local black pudding topped with goats cheese with a delicious dressing to start and a honey-roast ham hock for main course. I couldn't finish it was so big. Very very tender. Delicious. My wife had the steak and ale suet steamed pudding. Again - brilliant. I believe the chef is also the owner, which would explain why the food was so good. I have already re-booked for March! Keep it up!
