Having spent an hour and a quarter getting there, down the pot holed track to the castle. We found that this open all year round attraction was closed, no signs on the main road. Deeply disappointed at the service.

Outside the house looks lovely, you pay your £5.50 per person and think you are going to see a lovely old house. How wrong I was. You are led into the first room, The Great Hall, which has an old chair and a fireplace, and that's it! Half of the room was blocked by a bench and there were a stack of dining chairs in the corner. The next room was The Ballroom, where you can get some refreshments. The room had a couple of large dining tables, presumably for the hotel guests, but no sign of refreshments, a filthy carpet and a dreadful smell. You are then led up an ornate but filthy staircase to the first floor where you can go into the Kings Bedroom, the rest of the floor being hotel rooms. Half of the Kings Bedroom is shut off by a curtain hiding a modern day 3 piece suite and a TV. You are then led to the next floor to look out of the window to the scruffy gardens. Value for money? I don't think so. Definitely wouldn't go again or recommend it.
