Disappointing.
This could be a really good idea - advertised from the road as a model farm and country farm. The result is significantly underwhelming.
At the 'farm' one can find goats, sheep, horses, highland cattle as well as swans and ducks.
Also there are a few mangy looking chickens and sad rabbits.
The sad thing is that I have visited much better model farms for the same entrance fee.
For younger children the animals are just too spaced out (and are often at the far end of the field). The children's play area is too - there is a toddler bit - and then, in another area an older children bit. The result is that you can't see both at the same time. The little tractor park (sit on pedal tractors) is spoilt by the fact there is a Bob the Builder ride that totally distracts from the rural farm theme (and then obviously the only thing your child wants to go on).
There also just wasn't enough information to make this a fun, educational experience for children.
The restaurant was a bit disappointing too. £4 for a cheese toasted sandwich - very expensive AND I had to wait 20 minutes for that.
Good card and garden shop and there's also lots of naff tat in the shop to buy (along with some decent cookware)
Brechin Castle Centre - could be fantastic. Its not.
What a great sadness.
